Second Semester, Grade Nine
Medical Terminology – Mastering the meaning of vital medical terminology and applying it to appropriate circumstances and situations. Grade Nine students will be introduced to medical terminology by the study of word roots, prefixes, suffixes, homonyms, eponyms, directional planes, anatomic planes, body cavities, body positions etc.
First Semester, Grade Ten
Medical Office Computer Applications
Students must gain an understanding of technology use beyond introductory levels.

Second Semester, Grade Ten
Medical Terminology – A continuation of the study of vital medical terminology and applications will take place. Students will be introduced to a systematic review of terminology that is not included in the Science and Anatomy courses so as to avoid duplication.
First Semester, Grade Eleven, Twelve
Career Pathways
Delve into medical occupations that are evolving, see explorehealthcareers.org;
Use Internet to get up to date job descriptions and qualification requirements;
Practice letters of application for real positions;
Practice job application completions for real positions including on-line applications;
Letters of application for college;
Code of ethics understanding, AMA;
MCAT understanding for advanced students;
AHIMA;
Sacred Heart Hospital visits, exposure to components of hospital employment such as Radiology technician, Pathology lab. Oncology, Cardiology, Physical Therapy, Pharmacology technician, medical coding, marketing and finance. Follow-up visits for students with an interest in one of the areas of discovery.

Second Semester, Grade Eleven, Twelve
A Certified Nurse Assistant Training program will be implemented so as to establish entry level eligibility for employment for students in the medical arts who are in need of such an arrangement. The training will give students with a higher aspiration than entry level employment an exposure to the work and tasks of such employment.
Instruction will be differentiated for the higher aspiring students so as to make the CNA program worthwhile for all participants.
