ABOUT M.A.C.S

MACS is a publicly funded charter high school for students in the Lehigh Valley. Our students enjoy the benefits of smaller class sizes, individualized learning and a medical career-focused high school education. At graduation, our students earn a high school diploma. Since we are a public school, our students do not pay tuition and are not required to test for entry into the school.

MACS currently offers enrollment for 9th 10th 11th and 12th grade students.

Enrollment is open now. Students can enroll at any time during the year. Contact us to learn more.

MISSION

The mission of Medical Academy Charter School (MACS) is to prepare students for future careers in the rapidly growing health care sciences industry.

This will be accomplished by providing a comprehensive, rigorous curriculum with a strong health care sciences focus and through the involvement with individuals and organizations that represent the health care sciences industry. Upon graduation, students will be expected to enter either technical or college degree programs in the health care sciences.

VISION

The school’s overarching vision is to prepare high school students for future careers in the health care sciences industry.  Our vision will be achieved by providing a comprehensive, rigorous curriculum that provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed as health care professionals and to function as productive members of society.

FACTS ABOUT M.A.C.S.

CARTER SCHOOL FACTS

What are the advantages of a charter school?

Charter schools are innovative public schools that provide an academically rigorous education to students who choose to attend them. The benefits of charter schools, like MACS, are numerous.

Accountable

Charter schools are public schools that operate under an agreement, or charter, between the charter school and the local school board. The charter school operates with the approval and oversight of its board of trustees.

Student Choice

Students and their parents can choose to attend a charter school instead of attending the school they were assigned to within their local school district.

Tuition free

As public schools, charter schools are funded in the same way as your district-run public school, largely through tax dollars. As such, charter schools do not charge students tuition.

Charter schools have the flexibility, authority and responsibility to provide an innovative, results-based education.
